The Perfect Date Night.

Amidst all the craziness our world is experiencing right now, we were finally able to have a proper date (not that my living room couch isn’t proper or anything) out last weekend for the first time in three months. It’s amazing the things that excite you after being quarantined for months. You realize the little things that matter, like dressing up and going out to dinner. What a luxury it felt like to finally have someone else do the cooking for an evening. One of our favorite restaurants here in Houston is called, Eunice. It’s a cajun style cuisine with an awesome happy hour and incredible food! To name a few of our favorites: the oysters, bang bang shrimp, charred broccolini and their chicken & sausage gumbo. But truthfully, you can’t go wrong with anything on their menu. We sat at a table on the outdoor patio and enjoyed a wonderfully mild summer evening in Houston.

As we sat outside enjoying the summer breeze and some drinks it occurred to me how beautiful this moment was. It felt like there was this small glimmer of normalcy returning to our lives again and it felt good! Honestly, I would eat anywhere and everywhere with this man but I must say the new surroundings was much welcomed after weeks of being confined to a 699 sq. foot apartment together.

After dinner, we decided we’d go for a walk, something we’ve all been doing a lot of during quarantine, but this time we wanted to bring along Bug and maybe some plastic cups and some wine to enjoy at the park. In Houston, I live close to a large park with a beautiful view of downtown. It’s the perfect setting to grab a picnic blanket and watch the sunset, so we did! Never underestimate the power of the little things, they mean so much.

Till next time, y’all!

Agree Kiki. It’s the simple things in life that are often the most cherished when we take time to reflect on what’s truly important. Sounds like an amazing nite!
