How To Do A Girls Weekend In Charleston Right.

Hey, y’all! Long time no talk. It’s been a crazy busy past couple of weeks between balancing work, life, and being the maid of honor in my sister’s upcoming wedding! A couple of weeks ago we packed our bags and headed to Charleston, South Carolina for my sister’s bachelorette weekend! I wanted to share some of my favorite places we went to for any of my jet-setters out there who may be interested in exploring the Holy City sometime! 2020 may keep us from travelling abroad but thankfully domestic travel is still allowed, so take advantage of it and visit this beautiful and historic city!

First, we kicked off our weekend with a private afternoon sail with Charleston Sailing Adventures . Our captain, Bryan, was amazing and such a trooper with our crazy group! Anything we needed, he was there! I highly recommend requesting him, he was great! I mean, is there anything better than getting out on the water? Seeing Charleston from the water is a memorable experience and one you won’t regret!

Later that evening, we went to Saltwater Cowboys to grab some pre-dinner cocktails! If you’re a gin girl like me, try out their Mrs. Judy Gin Refresher, it’s delish! This cute, casual spot is located right on the water and has such a young and fun vibe! After some cocktails we moved onto dinner at The Darling Oyster Bar. This amazing restaurant is as equally adorable as it is delectable. I ordered the shrimp and grits and all I can say is OH MY GOD was it incredible. I highly recommend putting this place at the top of your list!

We started our Saturday morning off with the worlds’ best homemade biscuits from Toast. Word to the wise, get there early because you’re going to have at least a 45 minute wait on the weekend. But I promise you it’s worth every second. Their spicy Bloody Mary is the best I’ve ever had, (and I’ve had my fair share so that’s saying something)! Now, y’all, let me tell you about these homemade biscuits…. I’m not usually a biscuit person. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE me some carbs and bread but biscuits aren’t usually my go to. That being said, these biscuits at Toast are INDESCRIBABLE! They’re not only huge but so soft and buttery and delicious. I’m salivating for one right now just thinking about them. Go to Toast!! The biscuits alone will make it unforgettable!

We ended our weekend with a stroll around the city walking from bar to bar. We stopped by Rainbow Row, walked to the Pineapple Fountain and went to the Vendue to grab some drinks on the rooftop. There are few cities as colorful and beautiful as Charleston. At times you almost forget you’re in the United States it feels so foreign from the city in which I’m from. That’s one of my favorite things about travelling, is experiencing something completely different, from the people to the architecture, Charleston did not disappoint.

On Charleston’s character: “It’s one of those weird distinctly American mutations, kind of like rock and roll or jazz or blues.”Anthony Bourdain

I hope you all get the chance to visit this amazing city one day and I hope you find my suggestions helpful!

Till next time. xoxo- Kristen Jean
